ABOUT NIPPERS

 

Nippers is a junior program that introduces children to Surf Life Saving.  Nippers is a great activity for growing a child's confidence, knowledge and skills in a safe beach environment.  Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends, they will become part of an iconic organisation that has served the Australian community for over 100 years.

Fingal Beach Nippers offers a program of surf awareness, skills coaching and competition over various levels, similar to the events that Surf Life Savers participate in.  Children are taught from a young age how to respect the surf, read and use the surf to their advantage, as well as basic first aid and rescue techniques.

Eligibility for Nippers

Boys and girls aged Under 14 as at 1 October are eligible to join.  Children must also be 5 years of age at the time of enrolment.  If they are not 5 years old before the 1st October they may join nippers on their 5th birthday up until 31st December.  For new members a copy of the child's Birth Certificate or passport will be required for verification.
